The Ontario Graduate Scholarship rewards academic excellence in public schools in Ontario, Canada.
The Ontario Graduate Scholarship body is responsible for providing scholarship awards to exceptional
graduates from the University Of Toronto, Ontario. This year, another opportunity opens for a new set
of students to get the Ontario Graduate Scholarship award. In this post, you will read about how to
apply for the Ontario Graduate Scholarship award, the eligibility criteria, requirements and so much
more. You wouldn’t want to miss reading this!

Ontario Graduate Scholarship Value
The University Of Toronto Ontario Graduate Scholarship is valued at $5000 per academic session. This
means that once you are found eligible to receive the scholarship, you could get $10,000 for two back-
to-back sessions or even $15,000 for three consecutive academic sessions, as the case may be.
The office responsible for the award would be responsible for covering at least one-third of the
scholarship amount.
It is also worth noting that, the Ontario Graduate Scholarship would only cover one year. This means
that if the academic year covers two sessions, for example, the Scholarship would only take care of the
costs for two academic sessions ($10,000). However, the period which the scholarship would cover
would be detailed in an official letter which would be handed over to the awardee.

University Of Toronto Ontario Graduate Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
To successfully apply for the Ontario Graduate Scholarship, here are the criteria that must be met:

1. Be A Canadian Citizen
Before you are cleared to receive the Ontario Graduate Scholarship award, you must provide proof of
citizenship. If you are a permanent resident in Canada, you are also eligible for the award. Cases where a
refugee in Canada may seek to apply for the Ontario Graduate Scholarship award would also be
considered. This is valid as the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act makes such a person eligible for
an award of this kind.
If you are an international citizen seeking the Ontario Graduate Scholarship award, a valid student study
permit must be available to be qualified to receive this award.

2. Registration Into An Eligible Program
You must have been registered to an eligible program under the University Of Toronto program list to
stand a high chance of getting this award. The program you choose should be full-time. According to the
University of Toronto, a full-time student is registered in at least 60% full course load. However, if you
are physically challenged, registration in at least 40% full course load is accepted.

3. Have Not Exceeded the Lifetime Maximum Of Government Support

If you intend to apply for this award and you have exceeded the lifetime maximum for government-
funded support, then you can stand a slim chance of being accepted by the graduate unit. For a person
who wishes to do a Master's and Doctorate, you are only eligible for a lifetime maximum support of six
years. Once exceeded, you automatically become ineligible to apply for a government-funded support
scheme such as the Ontario Graduate Scholarship.

4. Have at least an A- or Equivalent
Prospective awardees must show eligibility by providing proof of academic excellence. As a result, it is
