Facebook is a platform that allows everyone to communicate. It could even be addictive because of its amazing features. Sometimes, news and information may pop up on your news feed that may be harmful. You might even come across obscene language used on the app. How do you avoid this? This article is designed to provide helpful tips on how to hide annoying posts on Facebook.

How To Hide Harmful Posts On Facebook

Here are some tips to hide harmful posts on Facebook:

Unfollow or Snooze The Person

Ignoring or unfollowing the friend who is sharing the offending things is the first, and maybe simplest, method of hiding it from sight on Facebook. This implies that even if their postings won’t appear in your news feed, you will still be friends with them.

To accomplish this, just click the three dots in the upper-right corner of their post and choose “Snooze” or “Unfollow.” Even while this may come across as harsh, it’s crucial to keep in mind that social media is a personal platform and that you have the freedom to choose the content you want to see.

Hide The Person’s Feed

You can choose to merely hide someone’s posts if you don’t want to snooze or unfollow them. In your news feed, you will still see other postings from that person even though you won’t see the specific one. Click the three dots in the upper right corner of the post, then choose “Hide post,” to accomplish this.

Change Your Feed Preference

Changing the settings for your news feed is another method to manage what you see there. This enables you to filter out posts from other friends or pages and prioritize posts from certain friends or pages. To accomplish this, click the three lines in the app’s lower right corner and choose “News Feed Preferences.”

You can adjust how much of a given content you see with these settings. You can decide, for instance, to see fewer postings from pages or groups and more from your friends and family. Additionally, you have the option of giving some users or pages priority so that their postings show up first in your newsfeed.

Utilize the “See First” Feature

You can take advantage of the “See First” function to make sure you don’t miss any postings from a certain friend or page. By doing this, you can be sure that their updates will always come first in your news stream. Go to the friend’s or page’s profile, click “Following,” then choose “See First” to accomplish this.

Delete Your Facebook Account

Lastly, you might think about completely deactivating your Facebook account if everything else fails. Even though this might sound severe, it’s crucial to keep in mind that for many people, social media can be a cause of worry and anxiety. It could be time to move on and concentrate on other things if you discover that Facebook is no longer making you happy or improving your life.

How To Stop Unwanted Posts On Facebook App

Sometimes, unwanted posts can pop on your screen. This post may show up without your consent. How do you stop unwanted posts on the Facebook app? Here are some easy guides to follow:

Unfollow The Person

Surfing your Facebook can be fun. Sometimes, even seeing a list from your friends can be entertaining. Facebook is a refreshing place to be. However, what if you come across a post you have not seen before? What do you do? Of course, the choice depends on you. Most people would take the easy route which is to unfollow the person. You can do this by:

Step 1: Tap the three dots behind the page name of the post. This can be found on the right-hand side of the post. Immediately you tap this button, a pool of options would pop out.

Step 2: Click ‘Unfollow’. As stated earlier, the dot provides different options. Look for the ‘Unfollow Person’ option. When you find it, tap on it. You will be asked to confirm your option. Do well to click on ‘Yes’. There you go!

Make Inquiries Regarding The Person

The person might be a long-time friend whom you have added a long time ago. You can send him a private message to catch up. Sometimes, it is preferable to check the person’s profile to know if he has a familiar face. Also, it could be that the person who posted it tagged a member of your friend. This could contribute to the strange fellow being in your news feed.

Conclusion

To conclude, Facebook is a source of information. To completely avoid the app may require serious discipline. However, one can take actions such as the one above to make it a safe place for you. Thanks for reading.
